EM DEFESA DO NOSSO CORPO / IN DEFENSE OF OUR BODY

Hoje vou falar um pouco sobre o que é preciso fazer para o futuro, para que o corpo do Matthew possa ter hipótese contra novos ataques. 

Imaginem uma casa de madeira que sofre uma inundação. Depois de semanas, meses de trabalho vocês conseguem restaurar a casa para que estéticamente fique tal qual como estava. Na realidade se o restauro for apenas estético, passado algum tempo as madeiras vão apodrecer. Por isso é preciso aprofundar mais a questão. O mesmo se passa com o Matthew. Um guerreiro solitário que sentiu o nosso apoio nesta luta e que Graças a Deus, conseguiu ultrapassar uma das fases mais difícil deste problema. O organismo dele ficou debilitado devido a tudo isto. A quimioterapia que ele fez ajudou a aumentar a probabilidade de ele voltar a desenvolver um tumor (um mal necessário, sem a químio, muito provavelmente ele não estaria aqui), o facto de o corpo dele ter permitido o crescimento de um tumor também é mau. lol. 

Eu falei das coisas que não pude controlar até aqui, mas daqui para a frente posso controlar muito mais e o meu objectivo com este blog e com tudo o que temos feito pelo Matthew é mostrar a todos que se nós conseguimos, vocês conseguem também. Claro que com MUITA disciplina. 

O objectivo agora é continuar a eliminar os factores de risco, para que o seu corpo possa estar mais protegido, e continuar a fortalecer o organismo através de uma alimentação nutritiva. Alimentação saudável não conta para nada se não for uma alimentação rica em nutrientes. Amanha falo um pouco da minha experiência com alimentos biológicos. Que Deus vos abençoe.

Today I will talk a bit about what we need to do for the future, so that Matthew's body may have a chance against new attacks.

Imagine a wooden house that suffers a flood. After weeks, months of work, you can restore the house to be aesthetically as it was before. A lone warrior who felt our support in this fight, and thank God, managed to overcome one of the most difficult phases of this problem. His body was weakened by all this. Chemotherapy increased the likelihood of him re-developing a tumor (a necessary evil, without chemotherapy, most likely he would not be here), the fact that his body has allowed the growth of a tumor is also bad . lol.

I spoke of things I could not control so far, but from now on I can control a lot more, and my goal with this blog and all we have done with Matthew, is to show everyone that if we can do it, you can too. Of course with LOTS of discipline.

The aim now is to continue to eliminate the risk factors so that his body may be more protected, and continue to strengthen the body through nutritious food. Healthy eating does not count for nothing if it's not a diet rich in nutrients. Tomorrow I'll tell you a bit of my experience with organic food. God bless you.

A AVENTURA CONTINUA / THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES

Na segunda-feira disse que esta etapa na vida do Matthew está a acabar, mas que a Aventura está longe do final. Acredito que muita gente ficou intrigada com esta declaração, por isso vou passar a explicar…

O tratamento de quimioterapia vai terminar, mas a verdadeira pergunta é a seguinte. Porquê que o tratamento vai terminar? Toda a gente em coro agora: “ Porque o Matthew já não tem o Tumor no cerebro”. Yuppiii. Vivemos todos felizes para sempre.

Nhaaaaaaa. Bem, a realidade é o que o tratamento vai terminar porque é o “STANDARD”. Alguém decidiu que para este tipo de tumor com este tipo de resultados, deve ser feito o tratamento até aqui. 

Na realidade os medicos não conseguem dizer ao certo se o tumor já está morto, se está adormecido, ou se o que está na cabeça do Matthew ainda é parte do tumor ou apenas uma cicatriz interna que aparece na R.M. 

Esta é a realidade. Pelos dados até aqui, tudo indica que o Matthew já não tem tumor. E eu tal como os médicos acredito nisso, mas tal como o Robert Redford disse no "Jogo de Espiões" 

- Quando é que o Noé construiu a Arca??? Antes do diluvio. 

Por isso eu tal como Noé quero estar preparado para o que possa acontecer no futuro. 

Para quem não sabe, todos nós temos células cancerígenas dentro do nosso organismo. Diz a pesquisa, que o ser humano normal tem que se bater com três grandes tumores durante a sua vida. 2/3 pessoas nunca dão conta disso pois o seu sistema imunitário não permite que essas células cancerígenas se desenvolvam. O Matthew faz parte do 1/3 de pessoal que acabam por ter que batalhar com o tumor através de ajuda externa (extracção, quimio e ou rádio). O meu objectivo neste momento é fazer com que o Matthew faça parte do grupo de 2/3 de pessoas cujos sistemas imunitários dão conta do recado. Para isso é preciso trabalho de casa. Amanha falamos sobre isso.

On Monday I said that this step in Matthew's life is over, but the adventure is far from over. I believe that many people were puzzled by this statement, so I will explain ...

Chemotherapy treatment will end now, but the real question is this. Why will the treatment end? Everyone in chorus now: "Because Matthew no longer has the tumor in is brain." Yuppiii. We all live happily ever after.

Nhaaaaaaa. Well, the reality is that the treatment will end because it is  the "STANDARD". Someone decided that for this type of tumor, with this kind of results, the treatment should end now.

In fact the doctors can not say for sure if the tumor is already dead,  if it is asleep, or if  what he has in his brain, is part of the tumor or just an internal scar that appears in the M.R.I.

This is the reality. To the data so far, it appears that Matthew no longer has a tumor. And I, like the doctors, believe this, but as Robert Redford said in "Spy Game"

- When did Noah built the ark???? Before the flood. 
So I like Noah want to be prepared for what might happen in the future.

For those who do not know, we all have cancer cell within our body. A normal human being has to fight of three large tumors during his lifetime. 2/3 people never realize it because their immune system does not allow these cancer cells to develop. Matthew is part of 1/3 of people who end up having to battle with the tumor through external aid (extraction, chemo, and or radio). My goal right now is to have Matthew join the group of the 2/3 whose immune systems sort out the problem. This requires hard-work. Tomorrow i'll talk about it.

SUPER IMUNIDADE / SUPER IMMUNITY

Como prometido ontem, vou falar-vos de uma situação que se passou connosco no mês passado. 

O Matthew estava a fazer um tratamento no “Joãozinho” e eu tive a oportunidade de falar com o pai de uma menina que também tem um tumor cerebral. Falamos sobre a alimentação e a sua importância. Eu falei um pouco do que tenho vindo a aprender, ao que o pai respondeu: “O caso do Matthew é diferente, pois o Matthew tem um sistema imunitário muito forte. 

Eu perguntei quem lhe tinha dito isso, ao que ele respondeu: “Os médicos”. 

Muito sinceramente se os médicos dizem isso, só estão a dar razão ao que andamos a fazer durante este último ano. Se falarmos directamente com os médicos, eles não admitem a possibilidade do tipo de alimentação que o Matthew tem feito, ser a razão do seu sistema imunitário estar mais forte, mas de qualquer modo vamos a factos. O Matthew quase desde que nasceu sempre teve problemas de ouvidos. Infecções atrás de infecções. Em dois anos de vida é capaz de ter sido receitado com antibióticos umas vinte vezes. Depois de removerem grande parte do tumor, teve três  infecções seguidas, ou seja, em dois meses tomou três antibióticos. 

Após esta fase inicial e depois de mudarmos a sua alimentação, deixou de ter tantos problemas. Desde essa altura para cá recebeu apenas duas receitas para antibiótico, e de ambas as vezes eu fiquei com dúvidas que ele precisasse de antibiótico pois as analises deram sempre negativas para infecções (mas neste tipo de caso os médicos receitam sempre independentemente de ser preciso ou não). 

Qual a conclusão que eu tiro de tudo isto? Muito simples. As especiarias que temos usado na sopa (muitas das especiarias têm poder antibacteriologico, assim como antimicrobial) e o facto de usarmos alimentos biológicos, tem ajudado o Matthew a ter um sistema imunitário mais forte que o normal. Para bom entendedor, meia palavra basta. Que Deus vos abençoe.

As promised yesterday, I will tell you about a situation that happened with us last month.

Matthew was doing a treatment in "Joãozinho" (it's part of the hospital) and I had the opportunity to talk to the father of a girl who also has a brain tumor. We talked about food and its importance. I spoke a little of what I have been learning, to which the father replied, "Matthew's case is a bit different because Matthew has a very strong immune system.

I asked who had told him this, to which he replied: "The Doctors".

Very sincerely if doctors say this, their only agreeing with what we have been doing during this last year. If we speak directly with doctors, they do not admit the possibility of food being responsible for  Matthew's immune system being stronger, but anyway, here are the facts. Matthew almost since birth, always had ear problems. Infection after infection. In two years of life he was prescribed with antibiotics some twenty times. After removing part of the tumor Matthew had three infections, ie, within two months he took antibiotics three times.

After this rough beginning  and after we change his diet somewhat , he stopped having so many problems. Since then he was only prescribed with antibiotics twice, and both times I was in doubt that he needed antibiotics because the analysis always came back negative for infections (but in this kind of case doctors always prescribe whether it is accurate or not ).

What is the conclusion I draw from all this? Very simple. The spices that we have used in his soup (many of the spices have anti-bacteriological power, as well as anti-microbial) and the fact that we use organic food, has helped Matthew to have a stronger immune system than normal. ESTÁ QUASE... / NEARLY THERE...

Olá a todos. Já passaram alguns meses desde a minha última publicação, isso porque tive de aproveitar este período de férias para trabalhar bastante. Eu faço muito trabalho de rua na altura de verão por isso nesta altura fico um pouco desligado de tudo e todos. 

Muito bem, vamos falar agora das novidades. Fez na semana passada um ano que o Matthew foi diagnosticado com o Tumor cerebral. Não fosse um atraso no último tratamento e o Matthew estaria esta semana a finalizar os tratamentos de quimioterapia mas vamos ter que esperar até dia 27 de Setembro para que o Matthew inicie o último ciclo de quimioterapia. Durante estes meses em que não publicamos nada, o Matthew continuou a seguir os princípios alimentares que tenho vindo a relatar aqui no blog, e cada vez temos adoptado mais alterações e sem dúvida que tem sido uma aprendizagem fantástica. O meu objectivo com este blog é motivar outros a seguirem os nossos passos (Amanha falo-vos de uma situação que se passou no hospital connosco). 

Dentro de poucos dias espero publicar o final desta etapa na vida do Matthew, mas não pensem que a aventura termina aqui. Esta aventura está longe do fim mas eu explico isso numa outra oportunidade. Até amanhã e que Deus vos abençoe ricamente.

Hello everyone. It has been a few months since my last post, I had to work hard during this time. I do a lot of street work in the summer time, so during this time I'm switched off from everything and everyone.


Okay, let's talk about what's new. It has been a year since Matthew was diagnosed with a brain tumor. There was a delay in the last treatment so Matthew will have to wait until September 27 to start the last cycle of chemotherapy. During these months that I did not post anything, Matthew continued to follow the dietary principles I have been reporting here on the blog, and we have adopted further changes and no doubt it has been fantastic to learn all of this. My goal with this blog is to motivate others to follow our steps (Tomorrow I'll tell you something that happened in the hospital with us).


Within a few days I hope to publish the end of this stage in Matthew's life, but do not think that the adventure ends here. This adventure is far from over but I'll explain that another time. Until tomorrow, and God bless you richly.

UPDATE

Hello everyone.

It's been some time since my last post. I stopped with the blog idea because I wanted to devote myself to a new project.
I am about to open a store that I hope, will help me to promote a little better my work in order to be able to work more regularly.

Well, despite not write anything, I have kept the same care with Matthew. Tomorrow I will write a longer post, in which I will talk about everything that has been happening with Matthew. He's been very good and I am sure you will be happy with the news.
Tomorrow I'll tell you everything. Today I will enjoy some rest. I will strive to bring this blog back to normality this week in order to have a post every day.

I leave here just a little aside. I will change the structure of the blog, I will continue to write in English, but I will go on to have the English as the second part. Some people complained that everything was in English and lost interest, so I decided to change the structure.

Faz algum tempo desde a minha ultima publicação. Encostei um pouco a ideia do blog pois queria dedicar-me a um novo projecto.
Estou quase a abrir uma loja que espero, me ajude a promover um pouco melhor os meus trabalhos de forma a conseguir trabalhar com mais regularidade.

Bem apesar de não escrever nada, tenho mantido os mesmos cuidados com o Matthew. Amanha vou escrever um post maior, no qual vou falar um pouco sobre tudo o que tem vindo a acontecer com o Matthew e as novidades. Ele tem andado muito bem e estou certo que vão ficar felizes com as noticias.
Amanha eu conto tudo. Hoje vou aproveitar para descansar um pouco. Vou-me esforçar para que este blog volte há normalidade ainda esta semana, de forma a terem uma publicação todos os dias.

Deixo aqui apenas um pequeno aparte. Eu vou mudar a estrutura do blog, vou continuar a escrever em Ingles, mas vou passar a ter o Ingles no segundo plano. Algumas pessoas queixaram-se que tava tudo em Ingles e perderam o interesse, por isso decidi mudar de estrutura ok.
